Free Thanksgiving printables that fill themselves in
Most Thanksgiving printables are blank sheets. This set builds pages from your answers: the menu you type, the guests you add and the time you plan to sit down. You can print them as they are or write on them by hand.
It is free, runs in your browser and needs no account. Choose A4 or US Letter, then print or save as a PDF. The date starts on the fourth Thursday of November, which is Thursday 26 November in 2026, and you can change it.
What is in the set
There are three parts, and each one answers a real question on the day.
- The dinner planner page: the date, your dinner time, a menu with space for up to 14 dishes, a cooking timeline and a who-is-bringing-what table.
- Place cards: fold-over cards, four to a page, with each guest's name on both sides and the words "This year I am thankful for" inside.
- A thankful list for the table, with a line for each guest to write one thing they are thankful for.
A cooking timeline worked back from dinner time
The hardest part of a big dinner is timing. Everything has to be ready together, and it is easy to lose track. The planner does the sums for you. Set the time you want to eat, and it counts backwards.
The timeline has five steps: the main in the oven five hours before dinner, the sides prepared two hours before, the table and place cards set one hour before, the bread warmed and gravy made half an hour before, and then dinner is served. If you set dinner for 4:00 pm, for example, the main goes in at 11:00 am.
Those gaps are a general guide. Your own turkey, ham or roast may need more or less time, so check the instructions on the packaging or your recipe and adjust the plan on paper. The timeline is there to give you a shape for the day, not to replace a recipe.
Who is bringing what, without a group chat
If guests are bringing dishes, a short table keeps everyone clear. It has three columns: the guest, what they are bringing and a box to tick when it is confirmed. It shows up to nine guests, with blank rows if you leave the list empty.
It stops two people turning up with the same pie, and it shows you what is missing before the day. A few quick tips help it go smoothly.
- Write your menu first, so you can see the gaps.
- Ask guests what they would like to bring and fill in the table as they answer.
- Tick the box once a dish is confirmed.
- Fill any gaps yourself or ask a guest for drinks, ice or bread.
- Stick the page on the fridge so you can see it at a glance.
Fold-over Thanksgiving place cards with a thankful prompt
Place cards help the table feel looked after, and they keep an awkward seating moment from happening. These ones are tent cards. Cut along the outside, fold on the dashed line and stand each one up. The name is on both halves, so it can be read from either side of the table.
Inside the back half is a prompt: "This year I am thankful for". Guests can finish the line by hand while they wait for dinner. Four cards fit on a page, and you can add up to 32 names. If you leave the guest list empty, you get a page of blank cards to write on.
A thankful list to pass around the table
The last page is a simple shared list. Each guest gets a line with their name at the start, and everyone writes one thing they are thankful for this year. Pass it around during the meal and read it aloud over dessert.
It works for children as well as adults, and it is a nice thing to keep. Print one each year and you have a small record of who was at your table.
- For a small group, ask everyone to write one line and read them out together.
- For a larger group, print two copies so the list does not take all night to go round.
- For children, let them draw instead of write.
- For guests who are away, ask them to send a line and add it by hand.
Printing tips and privacy
Pick A4 or US Letter before you print. Place cards look best on a slightly heavier paper, but plain paper folds well too. Turn on the ink saver for the planner pages if you are printing a lot.
What you type stays in the link after the # in your browser. It is never sent to a server, so your guest names and menu are not stored anywhere on our side. Bookmark the page if you want to come back to the same plan.
