What is in this Eid al-Fitr set?
Eid al-Fitr is the celebration at the end of Ramadan, and the days before it are full of shopping, cooking, wrapping and calling family. This set takes care of the paper side: cards for the people you love, tags for every gift, and one page that holds the plan for the day.
It is free, works in your browser and needs no account. Print or save as a PDF.
- Greeting cards: two to a page, with a crescent and Eid Mubarak on the front, and the recipient's name, your message and your family name on the back.
- Gift tags: ten to a page, each with Eid Mubarak, "For" and a name, and who it is from.
- An Eid day plan: the night before, Eid morning, the time and place of Eid prayer, visits and calls, food and guests, and a gift list.
When is Eid al-Fitr in 2027?
Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected on Tuesday 9 March or Wednesday 10 March 2027. The UAE's Astronomy Centre, reported by The National, expects Eid on 9 March if Ramadan lasts 29 days and on 10 March if it lasts 30 days. Gulf News gives Wednesday 10 March.
Eid begins on the first day of Shawwal, the month after Ramadan, and the exact day is confirmed by the moon sighting or the method your community follows. Dates can differ by a day between countries, so check your local announcement before you send invitations with a date on them.
How do the Eid greeting cards work?
Add one name per line, up to 24, and each person gets their own card. The front shows a crescent and star with Eid Mubarak. The other half carries "Dear" and the name, your message and "With love" with your family name.
The suggested message wishes a joyful Eid full of peace and time together. Write your own in any language your keyboard supports. Each page holds two cards: cut along the middle line, then fold each in half with the printing on the outside.
- Type your family name.
- Write your message, or keep the suggested one.
- Add the people you want to greet, one per line.
- Print, cut and fold each card.
- Add a few words by hand before you give or post them.
Planning Eid day
The plan page puts the whole day on one sheet. There is a line for the time and place of Eid prayer, then checklists for the night before and Eid morning, a list of visits and calls, space for food and guests, and a gift list that pulls in the first names from your list with a box to tick when each gift is given.
The night before list includes clothes ready for the morning, gifts and envelopes filled, Zakat al-Fitr given and food prepared for guests. Every family celebrates in its own way, so add your own items on the blank lines and cross out what does not apply. For questions about Zakat al-Fitr or Eid prayer, ask your local mosque.
Getting children involved
Children can do a lot of the Eid preparation with these pages. They can choose who gets a card, decorate the fronts with colour and glitter, and sign each one. The gift tags are small enough for little hands to cut, and tying them on with ribbon is a nice job for the night before.
The day plan works well on the fridge, where everyone can see what is happening and when. Let older children take charge of the visits and calls list, ticking off each one as the day goes on, so nobody is forgotten.
Printing tips and privacy
Card stock makes sturdier cards and tags. The ink saver option turns the green accents grey and saves colour ink.
Names and messages stay in the link after the # in your browser and are never sent to a server, so your family list stays with you.
